John Dye in the part of “Francis Thurmond Hockenbury”.
With this role, John Dye became very popular and
received a lot of letters from young people who
congratulated him for the stance of his character “Doc Hock”.



Tony Becker started his
acting career very young.
His TV childhood reminds him of some nice memories;
he played in the telefilms:
“The Oregon trail”
and in
“The little house in the prairie”.




The episode of the third season, titled
“War is a contact sport”
was directed by the actor Stephen Caffrey.




Lee Majors had to take part in one episode,
but the screenwriters asked him to extend his participation.
He acted together with his son Lee Jr;
in the show they were father and son.
Lee Majors was very pleased to play in this series,
that wanted to remind the whole world,
all that these young soldiers went through in the Vietnam war.







The third season of “Tour of Duty” was published on dvd in 2005.
